The absolutely easiest recipe for your furry friends! They are so much healthier than store-bought treats AND you can reduce waste by using some over-ripe bananas.
Here we go.....
3 ripe bananas
1.5 cups peanut butter (make sure it does not have xylitol in the ingredients; I like to use the kind you get in the deli so I know it is just comprised of peanuts)
3 cups rolled oats
Simply mix together all ingredients in a bowl, mashing the bananas and mixing thoroughly until it reaches a moist, thick consistency. You can add more oats or peanut butter to get the desired consistency. You want everything to stick together really well and hold form. Honestly, I don't even measure my ingredients at this point! But I measured them for this batch so I can share the recipe accurately.
Spoon about a tablespoon per treat into little mounds (slightly flattened) onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. The mix will be super sticky so this part can be messy. It's a good idea to use an ice cream scoop to help!
Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
Store in the fridge, they should be good for a couple weeks! This recipe made 84 little dog treats for me so it's definitely a large batch and you could easily cut it down to a third (1 banana, 1 cup oats, 1/2 cup peanut butter).
Try this recipe and let me know if your pups like it too!
